Mel Tuck honoured with the John Juliani Award of Excellence

Mel Tuck at UBCP/ACTRA awards

On November 23, Mel Tuck was honoured with the John Juliani Award of Excellence by UBCP/ACTRA for his “dedication to talent, ethics and extensive contributions to their art has helped foster a more open, creative and diverse entertainment industry,” says Keith Martin Gordey, UBCP/ACTRA President, and ACTRA Vice President.

Having worked as an actor, director and teacher for 56 years, Mel has dedicated himself to teaching in Vancouver for the last portion of his career, and praised the acting community of Vancouver in his acceptance speech.

”This is huge. I was very respectful of John, he was an amazing man, and it’s been a long journey, 56 years, so in that respect I feel very honoured—and also kinda humbled.”
