Mel Tuck directs The Understudy at PAL Theatre

  • by

The Understudy, at the PAL Studio Theatre from Aug 1-10, is written by award-winning playwright Theresa Rebeck. Known for her brilliant dialogue and humour, Rebeck is one of  director Mel Tuck’s favourite playwrights.

An ‘existential comedy’,  the play centres its action around the understudy rehearsal of a recently discovered Kafka play opening on Broadway.

Mel writes that existentialism ““denotes the inexplicable nature of human existence and emphasizes man’s freedom of choice and responsibility for the consequences of his acts.”

The show co-stars Sarah Boes as Roxanne; Drew Henderson as Jake; and Michael Germant as Harry.
